About this tool
Barcode Generator renders one-dimensional codes with the JsBarcode library in your browser. It supports Code 128, EAN-13, UPC-A, EAN-8, Code 39, ITF-14, Codabar, and MSI, with format-aware validation, adjustable bar width and height, custom colors, and an optional value caption. Output downloads as PNG or vector SVG, and all rendering happens locally.
Create scannable barcodes for product labels, packaging, warehouse tags, and library stickers. Pick a format, type the value, and watch the live preview update as you change the width, height, colors, and text display. The generator validates the input for each format so you never export a code that scanners will reject.

Frequently asked questions
Retail products sold in stores usually need EAN-13 or UPC-A. Logistics boxes often use ITF-14. For internal labels where any text is allowed, Code 128 is the safest choice.
A check digit is the last number computed from the others. Scanners use it to detect misreads. When you enter 12 digits for EAN-13, the generator calculates and appends the check digit automatically.
Each format allows a specific character set and digit count. The hint under the format selector explains the rule, for example digits only for EAN and UPC, or uppercase letters and a few symbols for Code 39.
Modern phone camera apps can read many formats, but retail scanners are the reference for EAN and UPC codes. Test with the hardware you will actually use.
No. Rendering happens with JsBarcode in your browser. The value you type never leaves the page.
